You don’t have time to shower until 11 p.m. and when you do it’s so rushed that you forget to shave your legs (until your toddler, affectionately stroking your leg says:”Mommy, what’s that? Fur?”– in which case you drop everything else and take care of business!)

You get it? It’s time. It’s time to put you first. It’s time for you to feel beautiful. It’s time for you to remember what it’s like to wear a clean shirt that isn’t designed for nursing, and to bust out that favourite lacy bra of yours. It’s time to remember what it’s like to wear heels and OMG- makeup.

Come on Mom,

Are you like me? Do you wait until the last minute to get things done for the holidays and then feel inadequate that you didn’t get it all accomplished? Last year I took this great photo of my son and didn’t get cards out until it was pretty much past Christmas, and even at that many didn’t get sent. This year, I swear I’m putting up my tree in November, whether my husband likes it or not, so I can do things like take pictures of the kids, and have one less thing to worry about in December. So if you’re walking down the street and you hear a rendition of “Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree” and you look around and the leaves are still falling off the trees, don’t worry. You’re probably just in my neighbourhood.
